My Story
The Milestone Society wasn't born from a love of travel alone. It grew from a simple belief that too many women spend years wanting to see the world while waiting for the right time, the right person to go with, or the confidence to finally say yes. I created The Milestone Society to make that yes a little easier and to offer the encouragement, practical support and ways to travel that can help more women stop waiting and start going.
I Used to Think Travel Was About Seeing New Places
I used to think travel was mostly about seeing new places and collecting memories along the way. What I didn't expect was how much I would learn simply by figuring things out as I went.
Every time I navigated an unfamiliar city, solved a problem on my own, tried something that made me nervous, or realized I could handle a situation I'd once avoided, I gained a little more confidence in myself. Along the way, there were also incredible places, unexpected friendships, really good food, wrong turns and plenty of stories to bring home.
Travel didn't turn me into a different person. It helped me see that I was already capable of more than I'd believed.
That idea became part of the foundation of The Milestone Society.
For a Long Time, I Waited
I waited until life felt more certain.
I waited until I felt more confident.
I waited until I believed I was ready.
Like so many women, I quietly questioned whether I was capable enough, adventurous enough, or worthy enough to pursue the dreams that kept calling to me.
Then one day, I realized something that changed everything.
My future wasn't going to wait for me.
So I stopped waiting for certainty.
I booked the ticket.
I took the chance.
I started before I felt completely ready.
Not because the doubts disappeared, but because I decided they no longer got the final say.
That decision didn't make me fearless.
It made me willing.
What Travel Taught Me
Every trip showed me something different.
Some experiences challenged me. Others surprised me. Some simply gave me the chance to follow my curiosity, try something new, meet interesting people, or slow down long enough to notice what was happening around me.
Thailand was particularly important. I went expecting an adventure and came home questioning some of the assumptions I'd made about what my life was supposed to look like. It didn't hand me an answer or instantly change the direction of my life, but it opened the door to possibilities I hadn't seriously considered before.
And the more I travelled, the more I stopped holding back parts of myself. I wasn't becoming someone new. I was giving myself room to be more fully who I already was; curious, independent, capable, occasionally ridiculous, and far more willing to see what might happen if I simply gave something a try.
That version of me had been there all along. Travel just gave her more opportunities to show up.
Why I Started the Milestone Society
I created The Milestone Society because I know what it feels like to stand on the edge of something you've dreamed about for years and wonder if you're capable of taking the first step.
I've heard women say,
"I wish I could do what you do."
The truth is...
You can.
Not because you'll suddenly become fearless.
Not because every answer will appear before you leave home.
But because courage rarely arrives before we begin.
It usually meets us somewhere along the way.
If I can be the person in your corner, the one who helps you plan, encourages you when doubts creep in, and reminds you that you're capable of more than you imagine, then I've done exactly what I hoped this Society would do.
